Telling stories is one of the most powerful ways to connect with others.
When we share our own experiences and personal stories, we allow others to engage with us on a deeper level.

In our workshops, our facilitators have the privilege of sharing anecdotes and stories from their own lives. We know these are some of the most powerful and profound moments in our workshops, because our youth begin to truly relate.

Here, we see our brilliant Victorian Program Facilitator Georgia, bravely sharing a personal story from her teenage years with a group of students from Kangaroo Island.

Vulnerably sharing stories takes courage and allows our youth to open up further about what they're experiencing in their own lives.

We are so proud of the work our facilitators do in sharing their stories, being vulnerable and connecting with young people in a way that relates to them.

What an incredible day at Murrumbrah Public School! Liv, Indi, and the Repco team took the Year 5 and 6 students through another exciting Pit Stop Challenge. The students showed amazing support and cheered each other on while tackling the challenges that they faced. Even the teachers joined in on the fun!

They then took the students through a LifeChanger Workshop, exploring the importance of teamwork and resilience, with students working together to complete the LifeChanger Grid in a record time for the Variety Bash series.

We're incredibly proud of the work we are doing with @variety_bash and @repco_australia to bring LifeChanger programs to these regional schools and communities. Unfortunately, people living in regional regions are twice as likely to require mental health support and therefore, the importance of the work we are doing this week is not to be underestimated. 💛

Yesterday, our amazing LifeChanger team travelled to Bunnaloo, where they made a pit stop at Bunnaloo Public School, joining forces with the awesome @repcoaustralia team for an exciting Pit Stop Challenge! Each of the students had the opportunity to change the mini Repco truck tires against the ticking clock. It was awesome to see the excitement on the kids' faces and the way they worked together to support and encourage one another.

After a two-hour drive, our facilitators, Indi and Liv, arrived at their next destination, Lowesdale Public School. The students enthusiastically participated in the Grid Game, coming extremely close to surpassing the LifeChanger world record! Indi and Liv spoke with the students about resilience, highlighting the importance of working together as a team to help overcome any challenges they might face. A standout moment was observing the older students willingly stepping up and offer their assistance to the younger students.

Throughout this journey, the unwavering support of the community has been a continuous source of inspiration. Our team has constantly been in awe of the countless community members and schools that have rallied together to host and provide meals for an astounding 300 bashers along the way.

First day joining the Variety Bash, our facilitators, Liv and Indi, ran workshops at Greenthrope Public School in the morning and Stockinbingal Public School / Wallendbeen Public School in the afternoon.

Students traced their hands and wrote things they are grateful for on the Repco car and talked all things teamwork and resilience in the LifeChanger workshop.

A highlight was students explaining their understanding of both empathy and resilience; and how important these qualities are in team work and relationships.

Meet Casey 👋
Casey is one of our amazing program facilitators across the ditch in NZ.

We are so grateful to have Casey in the team. Her passion for helping young people is infectious and she's always the first to put up her hand to help.

Casey has a hidden talent of playing the clarinet and she loves everything with pesto.

She loves being a facilitator because she wants to "make a difference in young Kiwis' lives".

"I am not alone"
One of our facilitators shares her recent experience in a workshop and why you should never underestimate your impact...

"Sometimes, as a facilitator, you can finish up a workshop and wonder if you hit the mark.

You might leave a classroom worried you didn't get the messaging right or you fumbled on the instructions for an activity.

Not long ago, I was packing down after a workshop, a little demoralised. The class had been a bit chaotic. But then I looked down at the feedback forms that had piled up on the desk.

One comment said, 'I have learnt that I'm not alone when I feel sad. I always have at least one person to talk to'.

That hit home for me because at that age, I was lost and unsure who to turn to. I certainly felt alone. To know our programs are giving students hope and making them feel seen, it was such an important reminder for me." 💛

NSW @variety_bash starts next week.

The LifeChanger and @repcoaustralia teams will be setting off this Sunday with 80+ other cars on an 8 day trip from Dubbo to Newcastle, via Echuca. What Flinders University discovered about our programs👇
Recently, Flinders University conducted research into our Youth Program and its impact on students.

Using a mix of qualitative and quantitative data, the university interviewed students, mentors and educators across various schools.

The findings have blown us away!

Flinders University found our program has a "positive effect on students' self development" with results showing an improvement in students health, optimism, self-awareness, and resilience, as well as stronger connections with peers and the community.

They found 76% of students better understood their feelings and over 60% of students became more optimistic.

Students also reported improved stress management, increased confidence in the face of adversity and improved positive self-image.

We are so thrilled with these results which show the real impact of our Youth Program.

Yesterday, we met with an amazing group of service industry providers who are all preparing to take on the ‘7 Peaks, 7 Seas’ Challenge on Lord Howe Island at the end of this month. It was awesome to see these inspiring leaders gather together to rally around the youth mental health crisis and support LifeChanger programs by taking themselves out of their comfort zone.

While standing on the steps of The Shrine, the group were presented with a great opportunity to reflect on the opportunities we have, as well as the opportunities that we would like all youth to have.

Thank you to our partner @carlislehomes for bringing this incredible group together. A big shout out also to each of the suppliers for their support in raising funds and awareness for LifeChanger programs.

Recently, a select group from the team at Carlisle Homes explored the jagged peaks of the Walls of Jerusalem in Tasmania.

This LifeChanger Challenge featured challenging climbs, meaningful conversations, life lessons, and incredible fundraising efforts - with $30,000 raised to support our youth programs.

LifeChanger Ambassador @hayden_quinn has some great advice when it comes to nutrition.
He has a very simple principle that he abides by.

This stands for, 'just eat real food'.

Hayden suggests we stack up on whole foods to nurture our bodies and stick as much as we can to the outside shelves of the supermarket where all the fruits, vegetables, proteins and wholegrains live.

It's important to fuel our bodies with nutrients, but it's also important that we find a balance and listen to our body.

When we find what works best for us, we can eat well and feel great long term.

As we start to get deeper into our Youth Program, we explore what happens when our inner villain takes control.
We all have an inner hero and an inner villain inside of us. Our inner hero elevates us to be the best version of ourselves. Our inner villain takes us away from being the best version of ourselves.

Sometimes, when our inner villain takes over, we lose control of our emotions. Those emotions, and our actions that follow, can hurt not only us, but also the people around us.

With young people, one of the questions we ask is:

- What strategies can you use to manage your inner villain?

Managing and supporting the inner villain looks different for everyone. But once we learn what helps, we can work with our inner villain, not against it, and control our emotions.

Exciting news from LifeChanger! This week, our team delivered 50 workshops in 17 schools across Australia and New Zealand, creating an incredible 2,888 workshop placements for youth. We’re thrilled to share that one of the highlights came from our VIC team, who headed to Matthew Flinders Girls’ Secondary College and explored gratitude with the Year 7 students.

For young people, practicing gratitude can help them cultivate a positive mindset, boost their self-esteem, and improve their relationships with others. It was awesome to see the students really embrace this concept and fill the whiteboard with all of the things that they’re grateful for, including a shout out to LifeChanger! 💛🙏🏻

We also want to express some gratitude to our partners at @cottononfoundation for their ongoing commitment and support of LifeChanger programs. With their help, we can continue to make a positive impact on the lives of youth across Australia, New Zealand, and Uganda. Together, we’re one step closer to our goal of positively impacting one million young people annually and empowering them with the courage to thrive!

Yesterday, we paused to commemorate and remember our ANZACs who bravely served and fought for their country.

An amazing couple of days on the Tweed Coast, Northern NSW, where a group of LifeChanger regional coordinators, executives and marketing team gathered to review, reflect and look for more ways to positively impact young people.

The passion, dedication and determination in the room left the team buzzing and will bring us closer to reaching our goal of impacting 1 million youth annually by 2025 and tackling the youth mental health crisis!

An amazing day at Merrimac State High School in Queensland, delivering our Health workshop to their Year 8 students 🙌

A special day for our team as staff from New Zealand, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland all came together to explore Health with youth.

Self talk is our internal dialogue.
It’s the endless stream of unspoken thoughts that run through our minds each day.

Positive self talk enhances our overall wellbeing and helps us to effectively manage our stress levels.

If you notice negative self talk creeping in, you can flip the script.

When you notice a negative thought coming up, think about what the positive version might sound look like.

For example, 'I know I'll mess up' can become, 'I will give it my best shot'.

Reaffirm the more positive thought by repeating it as many times as you need to.

Why do we journal?

Journaling gives us the space and time to sit with ourselves and check in.

It also allows us to practice gratitude, by coming back to what we're thankful for and what's going well in our lives.
